Description: In his new series of artworks "Narrative", visual artist PASHIAS brings forth a set of visual stories centered around the human body in relation to its transformative nature - the body’s ability to take upon different roles, evolve, break out and 'become'. Formulated as architectural maquettes or theatrical scenes, each three-dimensional image presents a still moment in time. The polylactide figure is the result of the artist’s 3D scanning and printing process, presenting his body in 1:10 scale, placed in the center of a marble stage as a souvenir or keepsake trophy. Borrowing elements from nature and historical iconography, the body is born out of a terracotta vase, breaking out of an egg, spilling its liquid libation. It keeps growing, as the 'ficus pumila' branches out of its head and into a garden setting. Rendering its animalistic nature, the dragonfly propeller blades prepare the body for its eventual takeoff into the sky, accounting for missing limbs. Plunging back into a sea of fish, the conqueror becomes the same thing that it consumes, in order to survive. PASHIAS turns himself into a storyteller, a sculptor and sculpture alike, a metaphor that keeps on transforming.
